Getzville, NY:— We don’t normally take on commercial work, but every once in a while, a change of pace is in order. Prior to this project we had only completed two commercial projects, ever. At Carrigan Painting, we’re a residential-only painting company.
When Local Edge, formerly known as the Talking Phone Book, decided to downsize their Amherst NY office after the pandemic, they ran into a surprise: the building owner quoted them over $7,000 to patch some drywall holes left behind by wall-mounted TVs and office fixtures.
That’s when they reached out to us, not for a commercial repaint, but for clean, surgical drywall repairs they knew they could trust from a locally respected, top-rated specialist.
And the irony: we happened to cross paths with Corrigan Moving – not affiliated with us, but definitely good for a laugh.

We repaired a bunch of areas with minor drywall damage through out the second floor. This area under the windows wasn’t initially included, however we couldn’t leave the area damaged (appeared to be chair damage – like chairs rubbing against the wall). So we just went ahead and fixed it – a freebie for the client.

After they removed their signage, we also patched the holes.

That was quite the double take running into Corrigan Movers!
After the repairs were completed, we spot primed all the patches and cleaned up our mess. This way the office is now ready to be painted, with out any additional work required with our patches.
Total time: 8hrs.
Does carrigan painting offer commercial painting?
Not really. We will take on commercial paint work on a case by case basis. We are strictly residential painters, and have only done three small commercial projects over the last 15 years. If you have a Walmart type project, call someone else.
Does carrigan painting offer commercial drywall repair?
This is something we have mulled over the last few years. We are open to it, but again, on a case by case basis. We do have all the insurances in place for commercial work but its not something we have pursued.
