Yay! We finally made it outside (half-way through June) now that it has stopped raining. For the next two weeks we will be hand painting this home in Snyder. We pressure washed on Monday, to remove dust and dirt, and then began with scraping the loose paint off windows and trim. Due to the intense washing we could’nt prime or paint anything on the first day. So on Tuesday we began applying primer and paint to those surfaces we prepared on Monday. This house, and every exterior painting we do, will be getting a full 2 coats of paint. We are painting the entire house, twice.

Update: Tuesday/Wednesday 6-17/18:
We coated the siding and began working on the windows. (first coat)

Thursday 6-19:
(first coat)
Calling for rain- And mother nature didn’t disappoint, we got rained out around noon. However we were able to finish the back, and started the north side and the front. The first sign of impending rain, its important to stop. The weather app said we had another 2 hours! Mother nature had other plans.

Friday 6-20:
Working solo today, I finished off the big wall on the south side of the home, and the first coat on the north side of the home, along with a few misc things. On Monday we begin the second coat.

Monday 6/23 Update:
It was HOT!! We got the back of the house 2nd coated, and finished off the front before calling it quits. Painting when its 90F outside is not a lot of fun. Back at it tomorrow. Ill have more pictures tomorrow. We plan to repair the wood pecker holes, prep and paint the 2 windows on the south side (big wall) and second coat that side hopefully before the sun gets to it. Starting at 7-730AM tomorrow..
Tuesday 6-24 Update:
We repaired the wood pecker holes and began applying the second coat on the house. The second coat usually goes faster because you don’t have the drag of an unpainted/weathered surface.

Wednesday 6-25:
We got rained out at 9 am. We can confirm Behr Dynasty is rain ready inside of 30 minutes. We were able to finish off the second coat on the biggest wall (south side), the second coat is now 90% complete. Now if it would stop raining, we could finish the 2nd coat and then do the windows. And then it began to rain…

Friday 6/27:
We are scraping, sanding, priming, caulking and painting windows and applying the second coat of paint to areas that were skipped previously for efficiency. We expect to wrap this up on Monday 6/30.
Tuesday 7/1:
All finished.
