Today we started an exterior house painting in Kenmore NY. We began by pressure washing the exterior surfaces to be painted to remove dirt, and bird droppings, ect.
The back of the home is wide vinyl siding which was painted black over 10 years ago. Surprisingly it didnt warp! Typically painting light siding dark, doesn’t work. The heat from the sun causes it to warp and deform. Not a good look.
Anyways, these homeowners are looking to change the black siding, to cream, to match the Tudor style of their home, so we are applying two coats of Behr Dynasty Exterior satin, from black to cream.
The garage, is a concrete aggregate finish that has 100 years worth of paint and pealing bad. So we spent some time with the pressure washer trying to get as much of the pealing paint off, as possible, as scraping it with a scraper, isn’t really efficient. Man what a mess! We should have put down drops on the grass to collect the chips! So tomorrow, or Monday we will be vacuuming the lawn. Live and learn!
This post will be updated with photos as the job progresses.

July 17th: we got rained out. It went from misting to rain drops to misting, plus it was super windy, so we called it around 1 PM.
July 18th: We we able to get the first coat of paint on the rear of the home, and the second coat of paint on the area with the awning so that the homeowner can have the awning people come next week.
The coverage of exterior Behr Dynasty is unbelievable! The only area with 2 coats, is the area with the patio, the rest in one coat. We will apply the second coat on Monday and begin working on the garage.

July 23 Update:
All done. This project was completed using two coats of Behr Dynasty on the vinyl siding, and aluminum window trim. Looks fantastic! It truly is unbelievable the coverage of this paint.
