Today we are back at Willow Ridge Estates in Amherst, This time for some interior painting. We are re-painting the ceilings, walls, trim, risers ect. including 11 interior doors in the foyer/front hall, stairwell, and upstairs hall. We pole sanded the walls and ceilings then repaired the ceiling quickly so that it can dry – that is until Stacy got out a darby (A special plastering tool to check straightness of walls and ceilings) and tried to fix a bump in the front hall ceiling.
The homeowners are hanging things back on the walls, so we will not be filling any nail holes. However any wall damage we find, will be repaired.
From start to finish took 3 days.
Before Painting

Update:
While painting doors upstairs today, this little patch caught my eye, upon further investigation we discovered this could have ended badly. The homeowner used a rag to fill in the hole, and then bought one of those drywall patch kits (You will never get the patch flat using a piece of plastic as backer like in that kit). We removed both, and fixed the hole properly. The problem with the rag, next to the shower, is that once the rag gets damp, it will never dry due to being in a wall cavity which can cause mold – bad. Instead we used a piece of moisture resistant drywall to fill in the hole, and fixed it properly. This little patch wasn’t part of the contract, but I couldn’t leave it that way knowing that Stacy can make it way better in about 20 minutes. Tomorrow we will sand it and prime it during the day, so the homeowner can just touch it up with paint.

Almost every fan on the truck. Stacy got a bit patch happy in the front hall today..

All Done!
