We were called in to repair some water damage due to an ongoing (now rectified) roof leak. The roofer had their people attempt the repairs, however the homeowner decided to call us after the roofer’s people proved they had no idea what they were doing.
Their solution was to just mud over everything with out actually fixing anything. So when we arrived, we had to fix much of their ‘repairs’ the right way. Which included opening a wall and ceiling and replacing sheetrock, and rebuilding a couple of corners so that it was done properly.
I tapped a corner in the kitchen with my hatchet, and it went right through. In 20 years of doing this kind of work I haven’t actually experienced that before! Yikes!
After removing the water damaged drywall (instead of mudding over it) we also patched numerous other areas which were incorrectly patched. Once these areas were done, we sanded our patchwork, then spot primed the areas with oil base primer. After which we applied two coats of paint to both the ceiling, and walls.

Please note, that while we do work in East Aurora NY, we will not work in the mountains between November – March.
