On June 5th, 2025, Carrigan Painting officially transitioned from a sole proprietorship operating under a DBA (Doing Business As) to a registered Limited Liability Company (LLC). At the same time, we elected S-Corporation status for federal tax purposes. The official name of the business is now Carrigan Painting LLC.
Since COVID, we’ve experienced steady, year-over-year growth. As a result, we felt it was the right time to update the legal structure of the company to better reflect its current scale and prepare for continued growth. The DBA model served us well for over a decade, but our evolving operations required something more robust.
So, what does this mean for you as a client?
Honestly, not much.
We’re still the same locally owned painting company Western New York homeowners have trusted for over 15 years — same people, same phone number, same standards. Nothing has changed in how we approach our work, communicate with our clients, or manage your project. This move simply provides a stronger financial and legal foundation as our business takes on more responsibilities and larger projects.
We haven’t sold the company.
We haven’t changed ownership.
We’re not part of a franchise.
This change is strictly administrative and reflects how Carrigan Painting has matured behind the scenes. Becoming an LLC taxed as an S-Corp gives us more flexibility to manage payroll, business finances, and long-term planning — all while maintaining the personalized, high-touch service we’re known for.
Carrigan Painting remains 100% locally owned and operated right here in Western New York.
We take pride in doing things the right way — in your home, and on paper.
If you’ve hired us before — or are considering it — rest assured: everything that makes us different still applies. We simply modernized the paperwork to match the level of professionalism we already bring to every job.
P.S. Because transparency matters; AI wrote this. Not bad right?
