After a plumbing leak, we were called in to repair the damage to the wall and ceiling in the back hall of this home. We often complete projects involving drywall repair and painting as one integrated service. Because we see the patchwork to completion, we have the experience to address issues before the first coat of paint is applied.
We always use moisture resistant drywall for our drywall repairs. The cost difference between normal drywall and moisture resistant drywall is marginal, but the benefits- moisture and mold resistant, and if it leaked once..
The drain pipe at the top, wasn’t set back into wall cavity far enough due to a restriction of the plumbing pipes, so Ms. Stacy had to hollow out the back side of the top piece of drywall so that the patch, remained flat, and didn’t bow into a bump.

After the patching was done, we sanded the wall and ceiling patch, and then spot primed the repair. Priming fresh drywall mud prevents the area from flashing through the finish coat. While not really a concern being in the corner, and door casing and a corner cabinet will hide the repair, its habitual at this point to prime all patches with a dedicated primer.

And while we were there, we were asked to paint a small bathroom off this hallway as well.
After all the prep-work was done, we cut and rolled the hallway and bathroom three coats with Behr Dynasty. The color is Alabaster. The last time we used Alabaster was when we discovered how bad Sherwin Williams paint had become.. Behr Dynasty covered beautifully, which is why we continue to use it and recommend it for our clients.
